Beautiful spring day and I headed out to see sunset. I asked a friend if i should go to lake or river. The answer was river. This river, the Cedar River, starts in Minnesota and travels 338miles (544 km) to join with the Iowa River to continue it's journey to the Mississippi River. It was first known  as the Red Cedar River referring to the trees that flourished along it's banks. History dates 1844 as the year a steamboat made it up from the Mississippi to  navigate  the river. It is at the center of my city, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
