The morning after a snow, so often the sky then is brilliant blue and the sun sparkles upon the fresh blanket. It glitters and shimmers and can blind one with it's brilliance. We refer to snow cover, the blanket of snow for it does truly lay upon anything there to be covered. The snow maybe the type of big fluffy flakes or soft little granules but it simply falls and piles upon itself atop whatever may be upon the landscape. The winds swirl and carve and create  patterns and curves and whorls  in and on the white topography adding artful lines and shadows to the  monotone white.
People have items in their yards and walkways and along the streets, evidence of times spent outdoors. In the snowy winter the people are mainly inside but they have spring, summer and autumn left-overs that stay outside that snow blankets. they become winter objects d'art, still life centerpieces on the snowy canvas.
In a few months there will grass so green surrounding these objects. There will people walking, playing  and enjoying being out in the open. These items will take on new life as we humans once again spend time around them adding fun and flowers  and warmth. Now, midwinter they are reminders of other seasons gone and seasons to return again in the future.
